Surrey, BC, Canada – Friends of Canada-India led by Mr. Maninder Singh Gill has announced to organize First TIRANGA YATRA (Tri-Color Car Rally) from Surrey to Vancouver (www.tirangayatra.com) on August 15, 2020 (Saturday) to celebrate the India’s 73rd Independence Day from Bear Creek Park to Arts Gallery. This Tri-Color Car Rally is jointly organized by GURUKUL CULTURAL SOCIETY.

This first-ever Tri-Color Car Rally in the history of Canada will start from Bear Creek Park Surrey about 9 am & culminate at Arts Gallery, Vancouver about 12.45 pm on August 15, 2020. Participants hailing from Kashmir to Kanyakumari will reflect unity in diversity of strong & vibrant Indo-Canadian Community. This Car Rally will be joined by other ethnic Canadian Communities including First Nations, Caucasians, Tibetans, Nepalis, Fijians, Filipinos, Chinese, Hong Kongkers, Taiwanese etc. Lots of prominent Parliamentarians, Legislatures, Media personnel are expected to grace the occasion.

“We want to strengthen the bilateral relations between Canada & India. We also want to outreach to other ethnic Canadian Groups to strengthen the multi-cultural fabric of Canada. We also want to reflect the true cultural diversity of India which consists of 28 states and 8 union territories”, said Mr. Maninder Singh Gill, the President of the Friends of Canada-India & Radio-India & Patron of Gurukul Cultural Society.

This Tri-color Car Rally (TIRANGA YATRA) will consist of more than 200 Cars decorated with both Indian & Canadian Flags. Other ethnic Canadians may carry their respective Flags. Snacks in closed packets will be served both at the start and culmination of this epoch-making Car Rally. Covid 19 restrictions & law of the land will be strictly followed.
