Pakistan: Blast in a madrasa in Peshawar 7 killed and 70 injured

The blast occurred in a madrasa on Tuesday morning at Dir Colony in Peshawar, Pakistan. 7 people died and more than 70 people were injured in the bomb blast. Most of the children who lost their lives in the bomb blast. Casualties may increase further. According to police, a man entered the madrasa with a bag. Later, the bomb kept in the bag exploded. The rescue team is present on the spot.

Confirming the blast, SSP (Operation) Mansoon Aman said that investigations are on to find out the cause of the blast. The injured have been admitted to Lady Reading Hospital. Hospital spokesman Mohammad Asim said that 7 bodies have been brought to the hospital so far, 70 injured have been admitted to the hospital. He said that an emergency has been declared in the hospital.

The area has been cordoned off. The police team is engaged in gathering evidence. Senior police officer Waqar Azim said that the blast took place during a Quranic class inside the madrasa. Someone placed the bag inside the madrasa that caused the explosion.

This is the second blast in Pakistan in a week. Recently there was a big blast in Karachi city of Pakistan. Five people were killed and more than 20 people were injured after an explosion in a 4-storey building opposite the Karachi University Muskan Gate at Gulshan-e-Iqbal. However, the blast was not confirmed by the police yet.

In addition, a recent attack in Pakistan on a convoy of the State Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) in Ormara, Balochistan, killed 15 people. At the same time, in the second attack in North Waziristan, at least six soldiers were killed.
