Pro-khalistan pamphlets found pasted in Chandigarh, CID started investigation

Khalistan pamphlets were found in Chandigarh, the incident occurred on Friday night, where about half a dozen Khalistan pamphlets were pasted in Sector 16, Chandigarh. Police reached the spot and removed the pasted pamphlets and seized them. However, it is not known who is behind the incident.

A team from Sector 17 Police Station led by SHO Inspector Ram Ratan took out the pamphlets. Police officials said footage of CCTV cameras installed near the walls was being examined.

The incident of pasting the pamphlets of Khalistan is not new. Earlier, such pamphlets were installed in many villages and bus stands in Punjab.

The Special Branch of the CID Wing has been tasked to identify the people behind the posters. An attempt is being made to locate the source of these pamphlets. Sources of such material including printing presses. In Mohali too, similar pamphlets were found, but one of the seized pamphlets had a different writing style. The red and white pamphlet was titled “#Pledgekhalistan” in support of Jathedar Balwant Singh Rajoana, convicted of the former Punjab CM Beant Singh murder case.

The seized posters urged people to join “Revolution Khalistan Zindabad”. Local people are reportedly being urged to get them involved in anti-national activities for funds. The intelligence wing is also investigating the matter.
