Sikh activists protest against missing ‘saroops’

Activists associated with Dal Khalsa and SAD (Amritsar) organized a protest rally outside SGPC headquarters demanding the resignation of SGPC President Gobind Singh Longowal. The entire protest was based on the non-detection of the missing 328 ‘saroops’.

The protests were led by Harpal Singh Cheema and Iman Singh Mann. Both leaders asked Longowal to resign as the SGPC under him failed to disclose the whereabouts of the missing ‘saroops’.

Activists of SAD (Democratic), Akal Federation and Sikh Youth of Punjab also joined the protest. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) delegation led by MLAs Baljinder Kaur, Jai Kishan Singh Rori and Kulwant Singh met Jatani Harpreet Singh, the Jathedar of Akal Takht on Monday and submitted a memorandum to him.
